Bryce to Escalante to Moab

We are on a week trip to Utah. 2 days/3nights in Zion & another 2 days/3nights toArches Moab.
We want to also do the Bryce & escalante on our way from Zion to Moab. Considering 2 options.

1 - Leave Zion early morning spend the day in Bryce...maybe take a horse ride. Drive to escalante in the evening & stay the night. Drive the scenic route torrey & make it to moab by night.
OR
2 - Leave Zion early morning spend the day in Bryce & stay the night. Drive to escalante in the morning & the scenic route torrey & make it to moab by night.

How much time will we in Bryce & escalante. What ere the best things here, that we surely shouldn't miss. Should we add an extra night at Bryce to cover all the good spots.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would stay the night in Bryce so you have more time there. Plus then you are fresh to make the drive to Moab. The only issue with that option is that you would not have to do any hikes along the way.

You could drive to Escalante--the hike to Calf Creek is awesome. And the Anasazi Museum in Boulder is interesting. Capital Reef is a great place to drive through and it has some short hikes too.

Depends on whether you want a longer day in Bryce and then a long drive or a shorter day in Bryce and then a more active drive day.

Don't forget Goblin Valley State Park between Hanksville and Green River. There is also Little Wild Horse Canyon about a mile from Goblin Valley. It is a gorgeous slot canyon, perfect for anyone who likes hiking.

Thanks Statonhyde, Cloveridge for your suggestions.

Statonhyde,
The hikes you mentioned - Calf Creek Anasazi, Museum in Boulder & Capital Reef. Can we cover all of these in a day...including the drive time From Bryce to Escalante?

we have to choose betn staying a night in either Bryce canyon lodge or the Escalante Boulder Mountain lodge. What do u think?

Thanks a ton.

I would stay the night in Bryce, get up for sunrise at Bryce Point and do a short hike duch as Navajo Loop down and Queens Garden back up. Then after seeing natural bridge move on.

As Stantonhyde mentioned Lower Calf Creek Falls is beautiful. The little known Willis Creek just below Cannonvile to the east of bryce is a real slot canyon and the hike if very easy.

I agree with the others. Goblin Valley is really cool and so is Little Wildhorse. I haven't done Willis Creek, but it wouldn't have as many people on it(if any). Lil Wildhorse can be busy, but it doesn't bother me. I would stop at Capitol Reef and The Gifford House and get a homemade pie there. Walk just a few steps and eat it in the picnic area of the orchard with the deer. They also have homemade ice cream. Pick some fruit from the trees. While the hiking is good in Cap Reef, your hiking would be better at your other destinations.

www.deserthighlights.com in Moab is probably my all time favorite adventure.

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Have fun and enjoy the rocks!!
