Bryce hotel help!!
Seems that there is limited places to stay in Bryce for an upcoming trip in September (we just decided to go). Would be willing to stay in a B&B, motel or hotel. Any suggestions? It seems the only 2 available are Bryce Pioneer Village, Bryce Canyon Resort, or Ruby's. None have glowing reviews...can anyone say anything postive about these, or recommend some hidden gem??

We stayed at Ruby's a couple of years ago. And were quite pleased--found it to be good value for money. Fancy? No. But better than I expected to find in a rather remote location....

We will also be in Bryce in September and will be staying at Bryce Trails B&B (www.brycetrails.com). Check out www.tripadvisor.com--I love this website for lodging review.

we stayed in nearby Tropic at the Bryce Canyon Inn cabins

We just returned from our Utah trip and will be posting a trip report soon. We stayed at the Bryce Canyon Livery and it was wonderful. Each room has a private entrance. Wonderful, huge breakfasts. The best part was that the owner arranged for us to take a private mule ride through a slot canyon. This was one of the highlights of our trip!

We stayed at Ruby's a few weeks ago. I was not expecting much because of the mixed reviews, but we thought it was just fine. Very convenient to Bryce Canyon, clean. We enjoyed the indoor pool/whirlpool area. The dinner buffet was nothing fancy but we liked it.

Ruby's is what it is - and does a good job at it. It is a large motel with many buildings. It does not have charm or ambience. What it does have is convenience, efficiency and cleanliness. We found it totally comfortable. Our only reason for staying in that area was to see Bryce, so we used room to sleep and that was all. If we had wanted someplace nice to relax and vacation-at-the-hotel, Ruby's would not have been it. But it worked for us.
Eat at Hoodoo Restaurant in Tropic - which is about 15 minutes from entrance to Bryce. |
