Bryce Canyon Area Lodging?
We're stopping at Bryce Canyon National Park on our way to California to visit family, and are looking for a decent, inexpensive motel or hotel in the area. Less than $100 a night would be great, and under $75 would be even better! :-)
Any help you can give me would be wonderful. Thanks, Fodorites! Lee Ann |
Hi Lee Ann,
You might want to check for lodging in nearby Tropic. I've never stayed there myself since I usually camp at Bryce, but other Fodorites have reported on reasonable and nice motels and B&Bs. Try a search using Tropic.... Tropic has actually grown a bit! |
Dayle, I agree with you only from an impression standpoint. When in Bryce this year, visiting the lodge made me shudder a bit (we didn't stay there), but there seemed to be some quaint hotels and cabins in the Tropic area.

Well, if you want really cheap, you could do Ruby's Campground and RV Park. They have cabins and tipis. The cabins have electricity and beds, but the restrooms and showers are in a separate building. The tipis are a bit rougher. Figure under $60 a night for a 4-person cabin

Ruby's Inn is more than we want to pay, but I didn't look at their cabins. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'll look at Tropic as well. We'll be driving up from Page in the afternoon, so either Tropic or the west side of the park looks pretty convenient. Lee Ann |
Hi ElendilPickle :)
I think Ruby's would be above your budget. However, directly across the highway is the Bryce View Lodge. Their rooms run in the $70-$85 range, depending on when you're going. www.bryceviewlodge.com Happy travels! |
Thanks, Kopp - we got a room for two nights at the Bryce View Lodge for $70 a night.
