Bryce canyon

We've heard a lot about the narrows in Bryce canyon. Could someone explain how we would go about finding it in Bryce, do we take a tour bus or is it in a remote part of the park?

I think that you may be confusing Bryce with Zion. There is an area in Zion Canyon called the narrows where you can walk upstream in the Virgin River for quite a ways. The canyon walls rise about 2,000 feet, but the canyon is anly about 18 feet wide there. We only ventured a short way up the narrows when we were there, as it was in the monsoon season, and there's a danger of flash floods in the narrows when it rains. You access it at the end of the River Walk Trail - the park shuttle bus stops at the trailhead.

I don't know of anyplace in Zion called the narrows, and I can't imagine where it would be. I hope this helps.

The Narrows are in Zion, not Bryce. The trail (if you cna call it that) follows a river - the Virgin River - through the canyon, which can get quite narrow at parts. It is an overnight trip to get from point A to point B. Most people just walk it for a few hours and that makes the start of the hike a little more crowded. You will get wet because some parts of the trail, literally, are IN the river (up to your waist, or higher. Take a good walking stick for support). Also, like the previous poster suggested, check and make sure BEFORE you start the hike what the rain chances are. And, start the trip EARLY because it will get REAL hot during the middle of the day, even with the water.
It is an awesome hike.
Have fun.

Here's the National Park Service page about the Zion Narrows:
http://www.nps.gov/zion/ZionNarrows.htm

More information on equipment, etc. can be found at the Zion Outdoor Adventures site:
http://www.zionadventures.com/
