Bryce and Zion Lodging

Having never been there before and not knowing what to expect,we are looking for recommendations of places to stay at Bryce and Zion. We will be there in the beginning of October. Just a clean and convenient to the canyon and not real pricey. Also, if you have been there during that time of year, what can we expect the weather temperatures to be? So looking forward to this very special vacation. It's our 35th anniversary celebration. Looking for adventures, great trips to take and we are very active people so we are willing to try anything. looking forward to hearing any information you can give us for our upcoming celebration.
thanks,
M&M

Hi Moemimi,

Congradulations on your up coming 35th Wedding Anniversary. Our 33rd is coming up in October too!

For our 29th Anniversary we went to the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Zion and it was the first two weeks of October. The weather was great. A little cooler at the Grand Canyon so it will be cooler at Bryce. Zion should be warm days and cool nights. We had a thunderstorm blow through so a light rain poncho would be a good idea.

We camp in our motorhome so I don't know about lodging.

I suggest looking at the Bryce Canyon Pines motel. It has several types of rooms. The last time I was there I thought it acceptable and close to the park entrance.

The motel type units within the park itself are a little cheaper than the cabin units and quite spacious but finding a vacancy is difficult even in early October. Believe it or not, but from May through September, people book a year or more in advance if they want to stay in the park.

If you go to the north rim, bring a jacket. We went last july and it was right chilly.

Last summer we did a similar trip. My husband and I are in our mid 40’s.
We flew into Las Vegas spent the first night at Ceasers palace.
Then drove to Bryce canyon 2 nights at Rudy’s Inn. Took a bus tour the next day of Bryce in the morning. Explored in the afternoon.
Went back at night too watch the sunset.
Next day drove to Zion two nights. We stayed at the Best Western in Springdale.

On our way to Lake Powell we stopped at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.

We then drove too Lake Powell and spent two nights at the WAHWEAP LODGE. We took a boat tour on Lake Powell too Rainbow Bridge. http://www.nps.gov/rabr/

Next day went too Page Arizona and did a tour of Antelope Canyon. This is the link too the website of the tour we took. Take a look at the pictures on the website. http://www.antelopecanyon.com/

Then drove to the North Rim. If you have not been to the South Rim, I would go their instead of the North Rim.
Last night in Las Vegas.

I hope this gives you some great ideas. We really enjoyed this trip.
