Brunch New York
 

Looking for a great--we do not mean expensive-brunch place, for a Sunday brunch in New York City. This is a wedding weekend, but a bunch of us are getting together just casually. If they took reservations, that would be a bonus. What are your favorites? Thanks!

Two favorites include:

Artisanal, 2 Park Ave. (enter on 32nd St.), 212/725-8585 for an excellent (not inexpensive) brunch menu.

Norma's at Le Parker Meridian, 118 W. 57th St., 212/708-7460. Norma's serves breakfast from 7am-3pm, and there are excellent brunch entrees as well.

Go to www.chowhound.com and go to their NY board then the Manhattan board and you will get all the help you need. Restaurant news on this board is not up to date as Chowhound is............

Agree about chowhound. Here is one idea, before you check the many ideas on their web site; Landmarc in Tribeca.

Cafe Orlin, 2nd and St. Marks. Small, tasty, and totally affordable.

I think it would be helpful to know approx. how many of you there'll be and what general neighborhood. Balthazar (and the other places owned by the same co.) are all good, popular brunch places downtown that should take reservations and would be able to handle a crowd if booked far enough in advance.

Le Zie in Chelsea (7th and 21st) has Sunday brunch. However, it is not one of those horrid buffets. The prices are reasonable for Manhattan. Very good Venetian food. They don't take ressies, sweetie. First come, first serve.
