BRUNCH/LABYRINTH THEATER/NYC
 

Destination: Labyrinth Theater 155 BANK STREET NEW YORK, NY to see niece in a new off Broadway play "Atmosphere of Remembrance" starring Ellen Burstyn.

Any recommendations for Sunday brunch in area of theater? Will have car so need convenient parking garage or restaurant in walking distance (1- 1 1/2 miles walk is OK).

Since we have a group, looking for a variety of food choices and comfortable setting. I'm not familiar with the area. It might help to know that I had brunch or lunch at Lupa years ago and like it very much.

Colicchio and Sons does brunch, and that seems reasonably close. It seems that you are looking for something a little more upscale. I don't eat in that neighborhood often, but that's one place that I like. And be sure to take at least a short stroll on the Highline.

Pastis is also not far, and it's a really good brunch spot. For a group, I'd probably try to make a reservation.

thank you Doug_Stallings. I will certainly check those out. It does not have to be upscale but comfortable enough to accommodate of group of perhaps six.

I love Pastis! It's noisy, but I like that about it; I call it convivial. Nice neighborhood for a stroll afterward, too.

I can't help with a restaurant, but as for parking, remember that you don't have to feed the meters on Sundays. So, if you arrive in that area by mid to late morning, you have a decent chance of finding a free space.

Good to know about the meters - I never considered that there might be street parking available.

We've almost always found a free space on Sunday if we got there in the morning. The same goes for the West 30s area on that day.

I've had lunch there and loved it. The dining room is pretty spare but the service and the food were wonderful.

For more traditional brunch but still plenty of options and lower prices, Philip Marie is very close. They have a prix fixe brunch for $25 which includes unlimited drinks, or order a la carte

Is there something comparable and convenient for light dinner & drinks, after War Horse at Lincoln Center (3 - 5:40 PM matinee next week), also a Sunday day trip. Taking 8:30 PM return train from Penn Station.
