Provence on MacDougal St.

If you can get a reservation, go to Five Points in the east village.
fivepointsrestaurant.com If it has to be Soho, in addition to Scarlett's good suggestion of Provence, there are some more casual places like Jerry's (a hip diner), the Cupping Room, the Broome Street Bar, Bistro Les Amis! |
Second Five Points if it doesn't have to be Soho. In Soho, my top choice for brunch is Jane. Delish. Definitely less pricey than Balth. Make reservations.

How about Prune on the Lower east side? not a bad walk from SoHo, and I don't remember it as expensive. You probably do need ressies if they take them.
Pick up last month's issue of Bon Appetit. There's a two-page pic of the tiny, cozy rest. , so you can see if it fits your idea of swank. |
Broom St. Bar- if it still serves brunch, since it's been a few years since we ate there!

Try Antique Garage on Mercer Street. Great food and hip atmosphere.

My girlfriend is a brunch-a-holic; we've tried them all. My favorite is good on Greenwich near W. 12th St.
If it must be SoHo, I second Jane. |
