Brunch in NYC

Hi everyone,
I am going to NYC this weekend with my sister , niece and one of my niece's friends. We are planning to go to the 10:15am Sunday Mass at St. Patricks cathedral and from there on to the statue of liberty and then over to Brooklyn. I was hoping to get some recommendations for brunch.
Thanks

What kind of brunch? Brasserie 8 1/2 on 57th just west of 5th ave has a great "upscale" one. Convenient to St. Patricks. Or will that be too early?

The Statue of Liberty is closed until the US Government shutdown is resolved.

Brasserie does sound good, but I'm not sure we will be dressed for something that upscale unless what I have read about Brasserie is not accurate. And yes J62 I am aware the the SOL is closed due to the shutdown, but I'm not loosing hope yet! Lol!! But even so we are headed to Brooklyn after Mass and will be doing ALOT of walking. Thoughts???

We'll be in NY this weekend too and on Sunday we're going to the Bluegrass Brunch at Superfine restaurant. It sounds like fun, very casual, not expensive and since you're going to Brooklyn anyway...

alicafaith, unless you're in rags or shorts and flip flops and t-shirts, I can't imagine you'd be underdressed for brunch at Brasserie 8 1/2. By the way, don't forget the 8 1/2, Brasserie without the 8 1/2 is another restaurant -- both are Patina restaurants.
