I went this past June to Branson. We went on a tour bus so all of our arrangements were taken care of. My favorite was Bobby Vinton!!! He still sings the same as he did back in the 60's. I did not know that he was so talented. He played many instruments and was fabulous! He put on a great show. Most of the shows there use most of their family members. His mother even danced and sang. My second favorite was the Presleys. (not the Elvis impressionists) The show was funny and intertaining. I did not care for the Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and the other impersonators. Maybe if I would have seen them first, and not Bobby Vinton, I would have liked the show better. The Japanese violinist was excellent also, if you like that kind of entertainment. After all of the shows, the entertainers came out and got on all of the tour buses and introduced themselves and visited a while. You are only about an hour or so away from The Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, Mo. Wow...it is worth the stop. It is not all fishing things. They do have a huge line of everything you need when it comes to the outdoors and fishing. All outdoor camping, hiking, skiing, archery, hunting,...all hobbies are in there. The multi level store is huge. You could spend the whole day there and not see everything. The way it is set up, it is even like a museum. There are all kind of animals mounted. Not all the animals were hunted, some displays of animals are from accidents of some type. There are a lot of arts and crafts. The furniture and accessories are very unique... example, a book shelf from a canoe standing. Can not miss the Bass Pro Shop.

My wife and I are in our mid 40's and found most of what was there to be geared for folks in their 50's or 60's and or people who like country music and fishing. Silver Dollar City is pretty much 6 Flags with crafts. If you like outlet shopping, there's a lot of that. Magic Show is good, incredible range in hotel/motel prices. I won't be back there. Bass Pro is not all it's reported to be. My wife and I like fishing, and we saw everything we wanted to see in about 2 hours. At least I can say I saw it now. Incidently, it's BrAnson.

We visited Branson last spring break and we are 20 years old. We had a wonderful time and we think Branson is for people of all ages. There was a show in old downtown Branson that had 5 people running the show, it was 1 guy impersanating everybody, it was wonderful. The name was Elvis and the Superstars it was the best show we saw all week. Also the people there are friendly, and I believe anyone of any age would enjoy Branson. The Uptown Cafe has the best chicken sandwiches in the Midwest. We will definately be visiting Branson again! Although the Stone Hill winery SUCKED!!!! Don't waste your time.

We did our own tour..rented a mini-van with a group of close friends, in March. (no traffic, crowd problems). We stayed at the new and lovely (and reasonable) Bradford Inn. It overlooks the city, a great setting, near Silver Dollar City. The breafast is great, staff is most helpful. We saw the Tabucci show..one of the best variety shows I could imagine. Then we stayed at the Big Oak Lodge. Beautiful! We loved our mini-trip to Branson. |
