Does anyone have any advice concerning obtaining discounted broadway tix, either through a website or otherwise?

Do a search and you'll find lots of information here.

there is always the TKTS booths in time square and at the south street seaport. we have used this numerous times to obtain day of tickets at half price!! they even have a website that shows what shows you can get the half price tickets on. (this changes from day to day somewhat but in my experience stays about the same) I cannot think of the name of the website but if you do a search I'm sure you can find it. We have always gotten great seats this way.

As I mentioned to a previous poster, I've had excellent luck obtaining good tickets on ebay.com from people who had to cancel for one reason or another and needed to unload tickets at the last minute. I've even ended up in the front few rows on several occassions.

I have used playbill.com with no problems at all.

Check out www.applausetickets.com. I got a dinner/tickets package for Hairspray and that was the only way I could find any available Hairspray tickets. I bought these tickets in January for a March show.

As others here have mentioned, I've had EXCELLENT luck getting good tickets at a reasonable price on ebay.com from sellers with good feedback (important to watch for). I haven't had as good of luck buying tickets in the city ....I do prefer having tickets in hand even when visiting NYC on short notice.
