Broadway show- wicked
is this a show for 11 and 13 year old children?
Thanks melissa |
My 10 year old granddaughter absolutely loved it. We saw it in Chicago, not the Broadway show. She understood nearly everything- and wears her Popular and Wicked shirts constantly.
I do think most girls will like it more than boys will. But there are definitely some boys who love it as well. I didn't take the 6 year old, felt that it would have been over her head. |
I think 11 and 13 would be fine. However, I think Wicked would be more enjoyable if they had some familiarity with the Wizard of Oz. I was surprised to realize that my niece (12 years old) didn't really know anything about it - maybe rent the movie first.

I think they will absolutely enjoy it. I would just make sure, if they are familiar with the movie/story The Wizard of Oz as we know it, that this is not the same exact story, it is the story of the wicked witch of the west and glinda, the good witch, how they met, etc with the story weaved around them - so in that way it's different, and a bit of a funky take.
the web site, www.wickedthemusical.com would be a good site to check out, it has lots of info on the musical for you, or to show them and get them psyched about it - don't know when you will be going, but there is a behind the scenes tour on saturdays which is interesting if the kids are into the theater, sets, etc and that info should also be on their web site. |
Absolutely perfect for that age, and you should love it too.
|
Yes, in fact, children that age (especially girls) are the biggest fans (i.e. FANATICS!) about the show.
|
They are the perfect age for it. We went to the school talent show last night and two groups of girls perfomed two numbers from Wicked.
