Broadway Show Tickets Help!
 

Some friends and I are going to NYC in January I was looking to purchase tickets for Hairspray. I found some on broadway.com for $100.00 per person. A few of my friends suggested waiting until we got to NYC to purchase tickets at a discount from TKTS I believe. I am afraid that when we get there they will be sold out. Any suggestions? Thanks

Buy them NOW! No way will they be available at TKTS.

I'll be willing to bet -- a whole lot in fact-- that you won't be finding any discount tickets for Hairspray at the TKTS booth this next January. Now if January of 2006. . . maybe?
If those are good seats on broadway com, I'd go for them.

If you want to go bad enough, buy them before you get to NYC and pay the premium. The lines at the TKTS booth are always very long and you never know what shows will be available. However, I also purchased $100 tickets to Hairspray and didn't enjoy it $100 worth. Just my opinion, though. Very basic musical.

Don't listen to your friends. Previous posters are correct. You will not find discount tickets for Hairspray at TKTS (or anywhere else, for that matter). Get them now, as your seat selection will be much better today than it will be if you wait until you get here.
