Broadway/Eugene O'Neill/Fela...Please Help Me Choose Seats!

I have a choice between Center Mezzanine Row C, seats 101-104 or Orchestra Left, Row K, seats 7-13. Which are better to see Fela? Thanks

Frank Jun 29th, 2010 05:42 AM

I would go with the Center Mezz which is only 1 row further back than the Orchestra seats. The side seats, especially seats 11 & 13 will have a very angled view (you will probably miss some of the action on the left side of the stage), they are 6 & 7 seats in from the aisle. We never take a side seat that is more than 4 seats in from the aisle. Go with the Mezz.

Another thought, you may want to search for 2 seats instead of 4, you may come up with better seats if you don't mind splitting up.

Thanks! I tried the two seat idea, but it didn't really give me a better option. Should I bring binos?

Frank Jun 29th, 2010 06:13 AM

No you wont need binoculars.

Don't forget to use the discount codes for Fella, 30% discount.

Thanks Frank. Yep, I went on Broadway Box. Is that the right one?

Frank Jun 29th, 2010 06:29 AM

That's it, enjoy the show.

Thanks again. One more silly question...It'll be the middle of summer. Do they crank the aircon on, or is it a comfortable temperature?

Frank Jun 29th, 2010 06:42 AM

Each theater is different but generally it's comfortable. Bring a sweater or light jacket if you are wearing short sleeves.

Okay, Any light casual before show dinner suggestions?

Frank Jun 29th, 2010 07:24 AM

Lots of casual places on 9th Avenue and not too expensive.

Also Becco (Lidia Bastianich) on restaurant row (W. 46th St) is a long time standby. Check the link below:

Also Carmine's serves big portions to share and is always lively.

Thanks!

How about something not Italian and not sushi? We have those covered already. Thanks!

If you like Mexican, Toloache is very good and not your typical TexMex place- more upscale. http://toloachenyc.com/media/toloache.html For American, Thalia is good.

I love Mexican, but wouldn't it be kind of heavy before sitting down for a few hours? Keep the suggestions coming, por favor.

Frank Jun 29th, 2010 09:01 AM

Check out the 21 Club, not casual, but they offer a $35 three course price fixed dinner. It's an experience if you have never been.

Also check out Bay Leaf, good Indian Food in the West 50's.

Thanks, I'll check it out!
