Broadway

Just learned that HAIR is departing broadway, two days before we were scheduled to see the show. My Daughter ( age 14) and I go to broadway four times a year just for the shows.

I was hoping someone could suggest an alternative show, we are considering South Pacific, in the heights, La Cage and Promises, Promises. We have seen Wicked (just ok) Mamma Mia ( Loved it), Addams Family, Billy Elliott., West Side Story ( Loved)

Leaning towards South Pacific but the reviews have been mixed about the show. I would greatly appreciate ANY advice.

I've seen all these shows, and the one I would most like to see again is La Cage, which will pick up a few Tonys next Sunday. If my main concern were a 14-year-old companion, I would get tickets for In the Heights.

South Pacific is a great revival in a theatre with no bad seats in the house. It was sold out for months. It is a classic.

South Pacific is very good and yes, a classic. But, for a 14 year old, she might enjoy In the Heights better, more contemporary with a nice love story.

La Cage is a beautiful story that is very relevant today, about compassion and understanding and family love. Also, it's up for Tony Awards!

Is the 14-year-older a fan of Green Day? If so, then American Idiot is the show for her.
I'm curious as to where you read mixed reviews for South Pacific. That's one show that's gotten near unanimous raves.

I would do South Pacific but a 14 year old might prefer In the Heights.
