Broadmoor Hotel and then where?
We're planning on a week trip to Colorado in the spring. Will stay at the Broadmoor 3-4 nights and are looking for another nice resort/hotel for the rest of the week. Any ideas? Also- any input on restaurants/activities around Broadmoor would be great!

Hi Cheryl,
We went to the Broadmoor earlier this spring and enjoyed our stay very much. We also went to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and would highly recommend it. It is a great (free) park full of beautiful rock formations. You can do a couple of short hikes to see the rocks or drive through. Very pretty. As for the rest of your trip, are you looking to stay close to Colorado Springs or go up to the mountains? Vail and Beaver Creek are nice if you are looking to go up to the mountains. |
Vail or Beaver Creek sound great. Any suggestions on a nice place to stay?

Hi Cheryl,
We've enjoyed the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch in Beaver Creek. There are lots of activities on the property or nearby such as hiking, gondola rides, biking, tennis, heated pool, a spa and shopping. We've also stayed at the Beaver Creek Lodge and it was nice, but much more modern and not as much of a "mountain resort" feel. Have a great trip! |
I recommend taking the back road to Breckenridge and staying there. You'll see great country and Breck' is charming. You can also get to Vail from there, so even if you opt for a higher profile resort, take the back road.
Oh--and it's still winter here until mid May. |
