Brighton Beach Recommendations?
 

Will be in NY Dec 21-23 and have talked husband into going to Brighton Beach. Looking at the mta map, I see that the B train will get me there (we're staying on the UWS), but about how long will that take?

Any recommendations for good Russian restaurants? This would be for lunch.

You'll find Russian restaurants all along the boardwalk area and I believe the Winter Garden has a lunch special for $10, which might be an option for you.

Why Brighton Beach with only 2 days in New York? There are plenty of Russian Restaurants and clubs, but NYC on 2nd ave. has Veseleka which is great and much less hassle to get to if you are staying in NYC.

cbr, we're in and out of NY fairly often, so thought we'd go somewhere we'd never been before.

I wishI knew the area better - and perhaps others will post soon - opposite side of the Boardwalk-- about 1-2 blocks from the entrance to the aquarium is a great market with one food stand after another - there are places to sit- not a sit down restaurant what you asked for, but amazing food, cheeses, pastry etc... explore Brighton Beach you won't be sorry!
