Brewery Tours in California
 

Hello there,

My boyfriend and I will be staying in San Francisco for a wedding and thinking about jumping ship down south (or north, depending) for a few days of brewery tours. Can anyone make any recommendations?

We did the Anchor Steam tour and it was great!

I would LOVE to do the Anchor Steam tour!
Love Anchor drafts with my seafood up in SF.

If you get to San Diego, Stone Brewery in Escondido has a great tour and they have excellent beer.
SD was chosen as the beer capitol of the US!

In San Francisco, my favorite beer stops were:

* Magnolia: www.magnoliapub.com (brewpub)
* Toronado: www.toronado.com (beer bar...my fave in the entire US so far)
* Thirsty Bear: www.thirstybear.com (brewpub)
* Rogue Public House (North Beach) ... no brewery tour here, but Rogue does make an excellent beer.

North of San Francisco, I highly recommend:

* Bear Republic (Healdsburg): www.bearrepublic.com
* Anderson Valley Brewing Company (Boonville): avbc.com -- no food served, but they have a fun frisbee golf course
* North Coast (Ft Bragg): www.northcoastbrewing.com
