Best beer? Best food? Best atmosphere? Best location? Are you looking for just a pub or one that actually brews on site? It's pretty personal; what I like might not be what you like.
If you need help finding breweries try realbeer.com and pubcrawler.com. Each site has a way to search for breweries by state or city, and pubcrawler includes reviews. They'll also have links to the individuals breweries' URLs. Once you're in one of the pubs, grab a copy of the Celebrator and/or Northwest Brewing News if they've got them; they'll also list pubs. If you're there soon, enjoy some of this summer's record-breaking sunshine on the patio of Pyramid Brewing, it's right across from Safeco, so it's easily found. If you're in the same neighborhood, (well, we do a lot of walking when there - I consider it close enough) Pike's is also not too far, easily found, and has decent beer. Gordon Biersch isn't specifically a Seattle brewery, but I enjoy their Marzen, it's at about 7th and Pine. Enjoyed a beer at Celtic Bayou recently (near the Microsoft campus) and was intrigued by their menu. Sorry this wasn't so much the recommendation that you're looking for as it is some ideas as to where to find a few pubs THEN you can go try 'em all and decide for yourself, a fun challenge:) There's plenty of options in Seattle but they're spread out all over the large town. |
Pyramid is a nice open place with good beer and good food. It's also 1/2 mile from Pioneer Square (historical district) where you can pay a minimal fee to get into 8-10 different clubs from jazz to hardcore.
