Planning a couple nights in Breckinridge. Looking for recommendations for scenic accommodations for around $150 a night and close to shopping and restaurants. Any scenic drives and must do restaurants.
any information appreciated. Hopefully in Mid Sept. Flying into Denver.

You have a lot of choices. Will you have a car? Don't be too concerned about close in -- Parking in Breck is convenient and free at this time of year and chose to everything. If no car, Breck has an excellent, free bus system. The better views are "probably" at the south end of the town. Breck sits at the end of a box canyon -- 10 mile Canyon -- so it surrounded by mountains on three sides. Mid-Sept is the charge over period from summer to winter skiing. Some of the better restaurants may be closed so you will just have to check what is open.

We will have a car. Looking for specific places accommodations in south end or scenic area. Seniors. Looking for some must sees. Not big on hiking.

We spent a week in Breckenridge. We hiked but we also did the following:
1. Leadville: Mining Hall of Fame--seriously interesting. Watch the film on Baby Doe and the Million Dollar Mine (name???) very interesting. We toured the historic synagogue. Really enjoyed it. Also had a great lunch at a Cuban place there-yum
2. Vail: The botanical gardens and the ski/snowboard museum--great exhibit on the 10th mountain division. With an amazing film featuring the survivors. Truly fascinating. We also walked around the village and had lunch at a sandwich place.
3. Walked around Breckenridge, hit the museums there--fun to see.
We stayed south of town in a VRBO. Really liked it--quiet and private. You just have to get used to paying for parking if you drive into town. We really. really liked Ember for dinner. Superb food, great service. That was great!

......specific places accommodations in south end or scenic area...... That is close to an impossible question -- There probably are 10,000, 15,000 units in a1000 complexes to choose from especially at that time of year. So it is hard to recommend one or two places. The VRBO is a good starting point. You can make a argument that most of Breckenridge is scenic. It sits at the end of a box canyon with mountain on three sides so it hard not to have a view.

The Village at Breckenridge and the Marriott Mt. Lodge are at the south end of downtown area and easy walking to everything. Choices are almost endless.

We just got back from a week in Breckenridge a few weeks ago. We stayed at a condo, Pine Ridge Condominiums, and were quite pleased. The location waa superb, at the bottom of Four O'clock Mountain and only a fve minute stroll into the middle of town near the Visitor Center. We went to a lot of the more casual restaurants (we had 11 year old twins with us) and coffee shops, breweries etc. Beautiful area! I miss my morning coffee near the river with the mountains in the backdrop.
