Breckenridge vs. Durango/Purgatory Mountain?
 

Thanks to all who responded re: some ski resorts we were looking at.<BR><BR>No one mentioned anything about Purgatory, which I believe is now Durango Mountain Resort, so would like to know if anyone has been there and how it compares - mountain and village and accomodations - to Breckenridge?<BR><BR>Also, how far is Breckenridge from Denver (driving time)?

i haven't skied durango/purgatory because it's such a schlepp from here (denver), but have only heard great things about it. in contrast, most of my local friends aren't so wild about breck. cute little village tho, if a little on the kitschy side. durango's cuter & close to ouray which is spectacular. breck's about 1.5 hours from denver, unless you get stuck in ski traffic (saturday a.m.s & sunday afternoons).
