Seattle Tourist Info

I live in Seattle and need help selling Seattle to foreigners as a place to visit. I've never had to research its attractions, so if you have any suggestions of nice websites that you like that are helpful to tourists, would you please suggest those to me?

I ran a basic Google search and found http://www.visitseattle.org/Home.aspx, http://www.tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g...acations.html;
Seattle.gov/visiting

I was wondering if there is a gem somewhere that I am missing in the google search. Please respond if you are willing to help. I don't need a lecture on how I should just do my own research online.

Thank you!

The fact that Seattle has 3 National Parks, plus San Juan Islands has me coming to visit it twice this summer. I do plan on visiting a few of the places the HTTY mentions too.
I wish I had time for Lake Chelan as well, but maybe another year.

Tentek, What kind of business do you run. Is it some sort of travel business?

Coffee, might be another selling point.

Another draw would be that many Alaskan Cruises depart from there or just over the border.

Plus virtually every major airline flies into Seattle. Plenty of flights makes it easier and sometimes better fares.

@spirobulldog, it is not a business. I am negotiating house exchanges with people in Spain and Italy and they don't seem to know much about Seattle or Pacific Northwest. I've noticed that we get a lot more offers from Germany, Ireland, and Netherlands. Nothing from the Latin countries. French, Italians, and Spanish want to go to NYC or California.

So, I wanted to boost my profile on a house exchange website. Thanks!

We really liked: the Underground Tour; Teatro ZinZanni; and taking a Whale Watching boat trip. We continued onto Vancouver, BC via Amtrak and loved that too.

Lots of good information on www.tripadvisor.com on the Seattle forum. Both the TA posted information but also the forum discussions (similar set up to here on Fodor's).

I will be in Seattle April 1 to 4th and it looks like every cultural event is off. I tried: opera, symphony, theater and museums. Nothing seems to be happening. Any ideas?

Go see the Mariners on the 1st or 2nd. Eat garlic fries and impress your loved ones and ex-friends.

Go see the Gauguin exhibit at SAM - supposedly fab.

Take a day trip up to the Skagit Valley to see tulips if they're out, otherwise daffodils: http://gardyloo.us/DSC_0077c.JPG and/or the Snow Geese: http://gardyloo.us/20100319_56as.JPG

Walk through the arboretum - ought to be great around then.

My husband will love you! I didn't realize the Mariners season began. Other suggestions are great too.

Oops, my mistake. They're "at home" in Peoria AZ on the 1st, still spring training. Sorry, I should look at the color key on the schedule.

A Sounders (MLS) game on the 31st probably doesn't help much, I suppose.
