Looking for recommendations for any of the B&B cottages around Lafayette and Breaux Bridge

Be sure to go to Cafe Des Amis in Breaux Bridge on Saturday (only) morning for the famous Zydeco breakfast. One of the most "Louisiana" things you can do--it's great! People from all over the world find their way here. The food is fantastic and the entertainment (8-11ish) is something you'll never forget. Rita Lynn Jackson, Plaquemine, LA

Made reservations at Country Charm B&B. Hosts were great on the phone around accomodating a 2 yr old. Our plans include the Zydeco breakfast with Leon Chavis and the Zydeco Flames!!! How about other meals--Mulate's?

We spent a night in the 50's cabin at Bayou Cabins in June of '01. "We" being myself and my husband and our two kids who were 11 and 15 at the time.

While I have no regrets about staying there, I'm not sure it's something I'd do again. Basically, it was an interesting experience, but not terribly comfortable.

I'm glad that we had the opportunity to see that part of Louisianna. And we really enjoyed our dinner (and the music) at Mulate's.

The morning we left we went on a swamp tour that turned into one of those stories we'll be telling the rest of our lives. The gentleman conducting the tour was quite a character. It was a very small boat and the only other people on the tour were an "interesting" older couple from Texas.

About half-way through the tour, it began to rain, and then to storm. The tour ended with a very fast, very wet, very frightening trip back across the lake in that small, metal boat. All the while the tour operator's young daughter was wailing, "Save us Jesus"!My husband works for a newspaper and he said that, all the way back across the lake, he just kept picturing what his obituary would say!

Looks like we were posting at the same time, Fairhope! I'd definitely recommend Mulate's.
