Breakfast spots near Pike Place Seattle?
Does anyone have a favorite local, casual, quirky-a-plus place to have breakfast in Pike Place area? We're staying at the Westin.
|
the athenian and lowell's are 2 diner type places in the market with a view of the water.
two options that are a little nicer, but still casual: bacco and cafe campagne--the latter is my favorite place to have breakfast in the market area. |
Bacco is my favorite. The crab omelette is wonderful! They also make very good cappuccino:) Another place we like is Le Panier. Perfect place to get coffee and croissant and watch the market vendors set up for the day.

Yum! Wonderful, NWW and mms. Thanks so much.

Here is a link to a review of Lowell's with some photos.

Cafe Campagne and Le Pichet are great if you're looking for something special,

Etta's is right across from the market and they have a brunch menu. http://tomdouglas.com/index.php/rest...enu/new-brunch It's a little nicer but still fairly casual.

Thanks so much, curiousgeo, happyt, and brito. I'm ready to sit down and order a series of meals.

I'm also going to Seattle, staying at the Westin too. Thanks for the great tips, I'm sure we'll save a lot of $$ by using these suggestions. Stokebailey, any tips on getting the most out of the Westin? We got a water view room...but it never hurts to ask for more! Did you learn anything about best rooms/worst rooms? Thanks.

Oh, nice. We aren't going for another week or so, agsimpkins. (I seem to gain a sense of security from scoping out breakfast spots in advance. Or maybe it just prolongs the pleasure of anticipation.)
Must admit I've never stayed at that Westin. Would love to read a report about your stay, though. |
We stayed at the Westin last year and enjoyed our visit. A nice hotel, very conveniently located for downtown. A short walk to Pike Market and the many downtown stores.
If you need a great local eating spot other than breakfast, Serious Pie is just two blocks from the Westin, a very popular place. http://tomdouglas.com/index.php/restaurants/serious-pie |
CJ's on 1st Avenue for a regular big American breakfast.
Bacco, Le Pichet, Cafe Campagne for sit-down. Dahlia Bakery (4th) and La Panier (Market). Ditto Lowell's and Athenian in the Pike Place Market for real old-timey Seattle atmosphere. |
Thanks, suze! I'm liking the idea of old-timey Seattle with a water view.
Will file these for future parents' weekends etc. |
A couple more ideas for those staying at the Westin - Top Pot doughnuts is just a couple of blocks from the hotel on 5th. Lola's is fantastic - check the Tom Douglas link above for info. And I love this place, although it's closer to the Needle than the Market: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/1/772898...e-Cafe-Seattle

Looks really good, lennyba. Thanks!

Great information here. I'll be in Seattle in January and always looking for good restaurant recommendations!

Another thumbs up for Top Pot doughnuts!

Ditto HTTY, consider Cafe Campagne as well. I don't know the proximity to the Westin but it's across the street from Pike Place Market.
OEUFS EN MEURETTE Poached eggs served on garlic croutons with pearl onions, bacon and champignons in red wine-foie gras sauce, with pommes frites. 16 smackeroos, so not cheap, but really good! |
Cafe Campagne or Maximillen are both very good. ***kim*** ((#))
