breakfast right on the sand from Pass-A-Grille to Clearwater???
leaving in two shorts days, so need recommendations quick! we love the seaside beach shack for breakfast in pass-a-grille and there's a sister-shack in upham beach. any other suggestions further up the beach towards (but not necessarily all the way to) clearwater? something very casual right on the sand preferably!
thanks.... |
Aaahh, it's been on a long time since this local went to those breakfast beach shacks, they are good aren't they?
Caddy's on the Beach in Treasure Island (Sunset beach at the south end of TI) has lunch and dinner on the sand...I think they used to offer b'fast, but no more.. Anyway, they make good pina coladas too, for a wee bit later in the day. Have a great trip. P.S. Two that are across the street from the beach: Le Croisette on Corey in St. Pete Beach - great eggs Benedict and croissants. and the Frog Pond for gigantic breakfast, Redington Beach. |
joan....thanks for the quick reply. have read about your restaurant/market and can't wait to check it out.

Robby's Pancake House on Treasure Island is a locals' & tourists' favorite. It's been there forever (not on the sand, but right across the street).
Also, for "the best grouper sandwich in the South," don't miss Dockside Dave's on Madeira Beach. It doesn't look like much, but the grouper is great. |
A little further south is the undisputed killer breakfast champion, Skyway Jacks. I think it's still on the water at a bayside marina. Don't miss the exit or you'll end up going across the skyway bridge. Call for directions.
Joan, if I'm not mistaken Caddy's still has weekend breakfast. I'm here now so I'll probably be checking it out this wknd. Of course this might not help llmoyer123. And definitely give Mid-Peninsula Seafood a try. Joan's cookies for dessert! |
I jogged by Caddy's on Saturday morning and it was hoppin'! Big crowds, lines at the valet parking, lots of fun goin' on!

Can't wait to meet you, Linda/lmoyer! Please ask for Don or Joan ok?
Ahem! TGirl how damn long has it been since you've been to Skyway Jack's??? They moved eons ago to a spot on US 19, that's 34th Street at 27th Avenue south. They had to widen the approach to the Skyway, thus went Jack's. Still greasy grungy and great though! |
Joan, how do I get to your seafood store from the Island Inn Resort? I'll be there in two weeks.
