Breakfast Places in Washington, DC??

Does anyone have any recommendations on restaurants for breakfast in the Dupont Circle - Scott Circle area? Looking for places with good food @ reasonable prices, Thanks!

Afterwords at Kramerbooks has an okay breakfast. Also, Annies Paramount Steakhouse on 17th Street and Luna Grill on Connecticut.

Reasonable is a fairly relative term and if you want to get out for under $10, none of these may be good options. YOu may have better luck with coffee and a scone at Starbucks or at Cosi

Seems like almost no one has breakfast in DC! There's a little bagel shop across street from Radisson Barcelo, with decent bfast sandwiches, juices, coffee etc.

Looking almost like a diner was a place across from Summerfield Suites.

From...rs Budget Travel Magazine had article about some of the taxpayer subsidized cafeterias in DC - not in Dupont Cr area, but check Nov issue.

I noticed in Boston too - everyone eats breakfasts "on the run" ... coffee to go and a danish, donut, or bagel. I like to sit down, enjoy the meal, with a friendly waitress who comes over with the coffee pot, says "heat it up, hon?" while she hits you in the arm with her hips. Not politically correct, but it is a typical diner scene. I LOVE diners!

We had a good brunch on a Sunday at Ebbitts Grill near the White House when we were in town for a few days in early December. They were pretty busy, so they must be one of the few places in town!

Good luck!

deskclerk --

How did you miss Gabriels -- right next door to the Radisson Barcelo in Dupont? It's one of the best brunches in town. Yes, Luna Grill might be good. Also, Cafe Midi on Connecticut is casual and good.

There is a place called, oddly enough, THE DINER in Adams Morgan that also does a good breakfast. Be warned that this is a diner via Sex and the City where you can get a Cosmo or a Chadronney with your meatloaf. It is on 18th Street just south of Columbia Rd.

Another vote for Luna Grill. Also, Cafe Luna (no relation) on 17th and P in Dupont is good for brunch. Gabriel is amazing for brunch, but it's not exactly the place for a quick, cheap breakfast. Worth the trip though - but make reservations because they only do 2 seatings on the weekend, and it's always busy. In Adams Morgan, the Diner is great, and Bardia's New Orleans Cafe (also on 18th Street) is fun and cozy. Finally, Bistrot du Coin, on Connecticut Ave in upper Dupont is fun and bustling.
