Breakfast/Lunch in Half Moon Bay, CA?

DH and I will be driving from the Bay Area to the coast one day next week. We plan to strike out early and have breakfast or lunch in HMB or environs. Any suggestions?

I suggest you drive a bit farther south to Pescadero and have lunch at Duarte's, a real coast institution. My son lives nearby and we love the place. I always seem to order the same thing, the fried oyster sandwich. http://www.duartestavern.com/

And if you go to Duarte's, be sure to end your meal with a piece of ollalieberry pie!

I would also recommend Duarte's (prnounced Doo-Art). It is truly an institution.

If you can't / won't leave HMB, the I suggest Pasta Moon. This restaurant has been around for quite a while and still has excellent food. http://www.pastamoon.com/

By the way, Duarte's makes very good omelets, too.

Welllll helloooooo Betsy ;;)

We ate at Miramar Restuarant last year. Good meal and GREAT location.

We would have sat on the patio and took in the ocean spray if the weather wasn't drizzly.

We liked Sam's Chowder House for lunch on our first trip to the area.

I will also second Pasta Moon, had a lovely dinner there.

Our go-to stop for breakfast in Half Moon Bay is the Main Street Grill. This is a small, family-run cafe that has been around for years. They make a great breakfast.

A couple more seafood oriented restaurants are Barbara's Fishtrap and the Flying Fish Grill.

Thanks everyone. We've been going to Duarte's for years and years. Love the artichoke soup and ollalieberry pie. We had a good dinner at It's Italia a year or two ago, so we may try that for lunch this week. If we're there for a late breakfast, we may try Main Street Grill.
