Breakfast in Austin
What are some good places for breakfast in Austin, preferably but not necessarily downtown. We will have a car. Thanks.
|
Sunday brunch at Fonda San Miguel is great. North side of Austin, car is required. About 15min max from downtown.
For a regular morning, the preferred breakfast in Austin is the breakfast taco. Lots of roadside shacks or neighborhood places all over town & surrounds. I don't have specific locations to recommend. |
Friends took us to Kerbey Lane - good stuff.

Cisco's at 1511 East 6th Street is an old East Side tradition for breakfast.

Austin Java is good. The Omlettrey is a popular no frills place, take cash. Kerby Lane serves huge portions. Lots of folks like their gingerbread pancakes. They have several locations. Magnolia Cafe. Eastside Cafe grows their own vegetables on site and also takes lunch reservations, most Austin places don't.

Kerby Lane Cafe is the best breakfast place in Austin. Their pancakes are wonderful. This is when you need a full breakfast: eggs, pancakes, bacon, fruits, coffee, etc...
Rudy's for breakfast tacos is an Austin tradition. Can't go wrong with that. |
My vote is for Kerby Lane!
Yummy :-) |
Magnolia Cafe!

i've been to moonshine for dinner, but i've heard the brunch is good too.
