Breakfast/Crepes in St. Louis
 

Any place other than First Watch or bagels? Crepes are great as well. We'll be moving our son into WashU in a few weeks and would love to have a new place to go. Thanks!

I haven't had breakfast there, but their lunches and dinners are good so I'm betting breakfast would be fine. Plus you may as well introduce your son to this part of town which is where a lot of the Wash U students hang out.

I always enjoy the scene at Kaldi Coffeehouse on DeMun, a 20 min walk south of Wash U. Sit outside if possible.

On Lindell across from St.Louis U, Nadoz is in a beautiful restored hotel and is a pleasant spot for crepes, etc.

On a lovely fall morning, sitting outside at Kopperman's on Euclid in the Central West End is hard to beat.

For a funky diner experience, breakfast at Tiffany's in Maplewood is served all night. Your son might want to check it out sooner or later. Hash browns slung by friendly short order guy kind of a deal.

Nadoz has the best coffee, if you're a drinker (of coffee :) ) Even their decaf tastes like real coffee!

There is now a second Nadoz, across the street from the Galleria off of Brentwood, in that fake streetscape shopping center. It's probably closer to Wash U than the Lindell restaurant.

Rooster: a crepes place downtown that is doing great business and recently expanded to accomodate the big crowds.

Soulard Coffee Garden:
nice place to go when the weather is right and sit outside. Good food and coffee.

Another vote for Koppermans': but the service can be a bit slow and it's kind of pricey.

Soda Fountain Square has a pretty decent basic breakfast. It's nice to walk around Lafayette Square after you eat and burn some calories.

I love Nadoz. I used to go there all the time before class or before heading to the library at SLU. Their coffee is great, and they have a nice assortment of crepes, both savory and non. They used to have a rather large (and kinda expensive) brunch on the weekends...not sure if they still do.

dweebe, how I miss the milkshakes at Soda Fountain Square. Yum...I used to go there for lunch all the time before moving to Charlotte.

Another good place for coffee is the gelateria downtown on Washington. Not too close to Wash U, but their coffee is wonderful.

You guys are great! I've always loved St. Louis and now I especially can't wait to get there. I also love good coffee and am certainly going to Nadoz (and several other of these places).

All good coffee tastes fine to me, but I love the architecture at the Lindell Nadoz. If you're getting into a car anyway to drive there, go for that one. (though the Brentwood one is near a Metrolink stop)

My friends love the pricy weekend bruch there, though I haven't tried it.

Go to City Coffee House in Clayton - the best crepes!!! They have breakfast and lunch crepes!! They have a lovely place to sit outside too!

Just returned from third trip to St Louis (daughter in school there) I wanted to try the cafe at Laclede Landing but it closed for extended Labor Day holiday. SO...I had my third meal at Nadoz. Their French Potato salad is a killer. The fresh omelettes are great and they will do any kind of egg crepe you request..they make it all right in front of you.

I've had their panninis as well and they are yummy (but LARGE)

My son is going to visit Washington University in a few weeks so I am bookmarking for him

Landry's Seafood House at Union Station was very mediocre. In fact, Union Station is a huge waste of space. beautiful original building and museum artifacts (and hotel) but crappy shops and food options. Expensive parking as well...
