tcreath - I meant Eureka Springs, AR. Myself and at least one other person had mentioned it as a side trip, so I was trying to give the OP an idea of how far away it was.

and a followup to ruthijane's #2 - there are actually 3 lakes - Taneycomo, Tablerock, and Bull Shoals. Bull Shoals is my favorite - not nearly as busy as Tablerock, and it's great for fishing, skiing, boating, swimming, etc.

beckers2482, sorry about that! I now see that you mentioned Eureka Springs in your original post. When you posted later you referred to it as Eureka and having not paid enough attention to your first post I thought you were referring to Eureka, Missouri and the 1.5 hour drive made absolutely no sense at all! Your right to suggest Eureka Springs. Its a lovely town and I really enjoyed my visit there.
