Bourbon Vieux "View" worth it?
I posted this before but for some reason it's not up anymore, so here goes again:<BR>Has anyone paid the $125 for the Bourbon Vieux's "Dinner and Dessert Buffet" for Mardi Gras? My hubby and I were thinking for 2/9 or 2/10 of doing this, so we could have not only the food, but also the view from the balcony of the Bourbon Street festivities, and the availability of clean bathrooms. Has anyone known about this type of deal and is it worth the money? Is there any way to get the view and the clean restrooms for a cheaper price?

I live on Bourbon and haven't heard of the Bourbon Vieux. Do you have an address? I'm guessing it's in the 200-300 block area. If so, the "vieux" from the balcony will be good if nothing else. (Sorry for the bad pun)

John thanks for writing!!! The address is 501 Bourbon street, the website is www.bourbonvieux.com/mardigras to see the stuff that they include. I'm guessing the food won't be great if you haven't heard of it, but I really wasn't doing it for the food, mostly for the safety and availability of clean restrooms! :)

Now I'm only 90% this is the same place, but when I was searching New Orleans for a place for a wedding reception..I had this one on my list, but took one look at the outside and skipped it entirely. It looked like a dump.

If anyone wants to know, the view was worth every penny! I didn't even eat the buffet, the open bar had very good brand name drinks, the restrooms were clean, the employees treated you like royalty, and the guests were superb! Everyone there was ready for a party, but not the college get drunk and puke party, it was sublime! I learned you can get on other balconies (for free and/or much less $), but the fact that the people up here paid money to be there meant that they were respectful of you and didn't elbow or grab. Wonderful time, I'd suggest it to anyone. Happy Mardi Gras!
