Bourbon Orleans Stay!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Bourbon Orleans from April 17th, 2003 to April 21st, 2003. At check in the lobby looks beautiful and the location is excellent. We are By Request members with Wyndham and they didn’t have that on our reservations so the kind girl upgraded us to a townhouse suite with a balcony. Sounds great, RIGHT? We walk in and this room was so dirty I would not stick my dog in this room. Spider webs all over, dirty comforter , just plain filthy. Tried to call down to front desk and phone does not work. Got switched to another room. Slightly cleaner but not by much. We put air conditioner on and head out for dinner. Back to room and the air does not work, Probably because the vent is dirty with garbage. Go to front desk and demand a clean room with air and two bellman to help move us for the second time in one day. Well one bellman and another move later we finally get into another room. This room was ok, nothing great. Mold in shower, dark bathrooms and still dirty. The next day I sat in the lobby and talked to other guest and everyone had the same story. This hotel needs major renovations. The rooms need to be gutted. I should have listened to the mixed reviews and stayed elsewhere. The hotel just doesn’t care, because they fill the rooms. Take my advice DON’T STAY HERE. Anyone can email with questions at [email protected]

Wow. Sorry to hear about your bad experience. This hotel has gotten pretty wild reviews. People either love it or hate it. I know which camp you belong to, dd! :-) There's just no excuse for dirty rooms. If the room is clean you can often forgive all else.

You bet I was amazed. They tell me it is due for major renovations but until then they wont see me. They offered me a free breakfast but would not think about eating in that filthy place

Dan - what hotel did you say you worked at? I remember reading somewhere tht you are a concierge but I forgot where.

Well, I just changed jobs so I'm out of the hospitality business for good, I think. I now work for a large company downtown.

Don't worry though. It wasn't the Bourbon Orleans! :-)
