Last time we were in New York we had lunch at Bouley's Bakery and really enjoyed it.How is the restaurant lately?

Bouley Bakery never reopened after September 11th attacks. David Bouley reopened "Bouley". While still the same chef, it is much more formal than the Bakery. The original Bouley was argueably the best restaurant in NYC, circa 1994/95.

New Yorker's owe David Bouley and his staff a debt of gratitude as he and his staff cooked virtually everyday, for the first few months, at the WTC site. I know my brother, a member of the FDNY, appreciated the quality of the meals that were served.

I agree it was the best! In the fall, the wooden crates of apples that lined the entrence(I always took a few on leaving) and the ceiling in the wine cellar covered with drying herbs made this place special.
