Boulder Marriott question
Back ground - 3 girlfriends and I (3 from Denver and one from Dallas) are doing a Mom's get away in Boulder for the night. I think we have decided on the Boulder Marriott - it is within walking distance to the Pearl St. mall. (right?)
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? I think it is fairly new. We are trying to keep the price down, so we are just getting one room (it is a football weekend so not many deals out there - $200 per night). Any other recommendations? We want to be within walking distance to shopping and dining.
Thanks!

Starting at 7:00 p.m. on the Friday nights before a home football game, the University of Colorado marching band marches down the Pearl Street Mall from the Boulder County Courthouse (between 13th & 14th St.) to the Boulder Daily Camera building (between 10th & 11th St.). They stop mid-block, every block, and play a collection of fight songs to pump up the citizenry for the next days game. Quite entertaining, even if you're not a CU football fan. Tonight though, they may be playing at the opening of the new 29th St. Mall.
If you're talking about the Boulder Marriott at 26th and Canyon Blvd, you'll be about 11 blocks away from the esat end of the Pearl Street Mall, and 2-3 blocks away from the 29th St. Mall.

Here's a thought if you want to escape the chaos of a football weekend (because the Marriott is pretty darn near the center of action)--why don't you try the Omni Interlocken? It's in Broomfield (a few miles south of Boulder) and right across the road from Flatiron Crossing Mall. The Omni is the perfect Mom's Weekend Out hotel--spa, dining, year around pool, great rooms...plus the hotel shuttle will take and pick you up from the mall and/or nearby restaurants. They've done it for us numerous times--when they drop you off at the mall/restaurant, they'll give you a card with the hotel's phone number--just call when you're ready to go 'home.' Dining-wise, Bloom is our girls' weekend restaurant of choice.
And...oh yes. They have complimentary champagne in the lobby when checking in. Aaah, bliss.

Ironically, 3 of us graduated from ISU and ISU plays CU that weekend, we are still trying to decide if we will try to go the game. The band thing on the mall sounds fun and entertaining.
I just called the Marriott and it is further away than I thought. I think we will try to stay at the Hotel Boulderado even though it is a little more expensive.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks Tess, I live in northwest Arvada and have done the Omni getaway several times both with my husband and girlfriends. I love the shuttle, Bloom and champagne too! We usually get great rates on priceline.
I think this time we are trying for a more lively night and Boulder sounds fun.
