Boston's Barking Crab??

I am visiting Boston this week and have reservations at 2 upscale restaurants already....but want a roll-up-your shirtsleeves casual seafood experience. Is this the place for me? I appreciate any suggestions!

I ate at the Barking Crab about three years.

It's a fun place to eat and definitely not an "upscale" restaurant. You sit at long tables sharing table space with all kinds of other diners.

Dress casually and in old clothes. You will probably get splattered with crab juice and shells!

Make reservations and go early! It's very popular! We had an hour and a half wait when we just showed up at 5pm. Maybe someone else can update the situation these days.

Have fun! :)

Annie: not a restaurant but if you like museum exhibits, I suggest the MFA for "Things I Love: The Many Collections of William I Koch." It is amazing and there are two America's Cup yachts at the entrance of the museum. This is the last week of the show. Ansel Adams exhibit is also there but I like the other better. Went back to see it again!

You might try Durgin Park (restaurant near Faneuil Hall) for a different experience.

For a single it's fun, the bar is packed as sardines. Another place is Summershack.
