I just got back from Boston.. I recommend you guys do the Old Town Trolley tours.

You get to see all of Boston that way and get off wherever you want, then get back on. It was fun for us (even though it rained.)

Quincy Market was a good place for shopping and stuff. You could also get on the Freedom Trail from there and walk all over the place. There's so much history in Boston so if that's what you like, you'll probably enjoy it.

And there's a Dunkin Donuts on every corner so I hope you like donuts! lol :)

We've always enjoyed the Omni theatre at the Museum of Science.

The trolley tour is a good recommendation. We got off near the USS Constitution and walked to the top of the Bunker Hill monument~not recommended for those who are overweight and out of shape like I am!! The best thing about the trolley tour is that you can get off and reboard at your leisure. And I believe it was on the trolley tour that our driver told us there were 63 Dunkin Donuts stores in Boston proper..........

Re: Dunkin Donuts. Some folks like their coffee (I'm less of a fan), but their donuts are awful, as is the rest of their food except for their cookies. I wouldn't go anywhere near out of my way for them. Problem is, if you want really good donuts, you'll have to hit out-of-the-way places for them.

Any list of the best donuts in Eastern Massachusetts would need to include: Verna's (North Cambridge), Kane's (Saugus), Butler's (Westport), and Donuts with a Difference (Medford). Verna's is the easiest to get to -- take the Red Line to Davis and walk several blocks. DWaD and Kane's necessitate taking buses. Butler's cannot be reached without a car.

If you have a chance, rent the dvd on the HBO series John Adams to take on your trip. It's kind of fun to see portrayal of Boston back then as you visit it now. It's at any Blockbuster.
