Boston with babies
Going to Boston in early Feb with 2 toddlers (3 years and 1 year old). Staying with family in Brighton (20something single bro-in-law with no interest in kids...) Any suggestions on child-friendly activities and restaurants that can keep us busy and happy?
Thanks |
We always took our kids to Boston to visit friends when they were very little. You'll have fun!
The Aquarium is fun for even little kids. (But it is pretty expensive.) Playgrounds are fun. Riding the "T" is fun. Faneuil Hall is fun. The kids museum is GREAT -- but I'm not sure if your kids are too little. (Probably not though.) Legal Seafood is always great and family friendly. There's one right near the Aquarium. The part about your host having no kids is a little worrisome. Maybe your kids could nap in the afternoon so you could have a little downtime. One warning - people who live in Boston (and probably any other tourist town) getted dragged around to the tourist sites every time they have company. So sometimes they are pretty tired of them. |
The Children's Museum in Boston is great. ONe of the best that we've ever been to.
You can also take a ferry boat road in the harbor. Quincy Market Place has an food court of sorts. Hopefully you are following the three day rule for fish and company! |
ferry boat RIDE!!!

how long are you staying and will you have a car....

Check with your family in Brigthon if the public library has free or discount passes for any museums. I always do that, although there may not be enough time left for this trip.

We went with my 1 year old last year. We did ride the ducks. Great ride. Great for kids. Very good. They have a web site.

Hi,
The Children's Museum should be perfect for your kids - and you wouldn't have to wonder about what the weather will be like. There is an area called PlaySpace which is reserved for children under 3. I brought my niece there for the first time when she was about one and a half and she really enjoyed it. There is also a bubble exhibit room in the main part of the museum that they'd most likely enjoy. http://www.bostonkids.org/index.html |
