Oh I meant to say also that I sill cannot seem to get the same LMT dates and rates that you are seeing.
I have booked many times previously through booking.com but at present their rates are not so good. It seems October is very expensive in Boston. |
Staying in the North End would be convenient, and fun. Great dining choices there such as Saraceno's.

May and October are two of the busiest months in Boston, resulting in high hotel prices. Do make a reservation as soon as possible, and if you can cancel it without penalty, even better. Then you can continue to look.
Another suggestion is to call Last Minute Travel. Others have reported that they have been given the name of the hotel and a better price when phoning. Bricco Suites may be a good option for you. It's very well-located. |
Agree w/ cw's suggestion. Call LMT and they will give you the names of the hotels listed for dates you are interested in. If you use your ipad for LMT you will also see the hotel names.
Bricco Suites looks nice and rates on Booking are $778 for 3 nights. This would be a good location and restaurants great in North End. Booking.com has The Copley House listed for a decent rate - budget studio for 4 nights (Oct. 14-17) for $835.49. incl. tax. This is a great rate and nice area to stay. Has kitchen facilities. Hilton Boston Back Bay has a decent rate as well. I just checked out LMT for Oct. 14-17 and they have some nice rates (under $300 per night) and availability. You should really book something and cancel if you find better rates. You aren't going to get anything "cheap" in Boston. You should stay in the city as it will be easier for you to navigate. |
Thank you for all your suggestions and help.
We have taken your suggestions on board and have booked in Boston and not on the outskirts. When I looked Bricco Suites up again the 2 bedroom apartment was now booked for our dates. So on the weekend I received a reply from one of the numerous accommodation requests I had sent out. We like the idea of an apartment to be able to store a few snacks and drinks and to be able make tea or coffee. We don't need anything flash as we will spend our time out and about. We will not be cooking there as there are too many great restaurants nearby. The apartment is very small but has very good reviews and is in a great location in the North End near the old north church. So we have booked it. http://www.vrbo.com/226996 |
What a good location! It's one of those rare areas that's both residential and in the middle of the city -- well done. You'll be in ideal location for exploring the city both on foot and on the T.
[Hope no one starts to think of The Onion's article about Boston -- http://www.theonion.com/articles/pre...daily-g,31554/ ] |
Terrific location and the apartment gets wonderful reviews. And you can do laundry too. Enjoy your stay.

Excellent choice. I had family rent a different apt in NE for a week. The location could not be beat.

That condo is a great choice, well done!
