Boston to Cape Cod - Drive or Bus???

I'm flying to Boston next Friday and going to Cape Cod for the weekend. I was planning to drive down, but friends suggested I take the bus from Logan to Hyannis and they'd pick me up. So which is better - drive or ride? Thanks!

Is there a bus that goes from Logan or do you need to go into downtown?

You will want access to a car on Cape Cod, but it sounds as if friends have that covered.

I would drive if you have to go into Boston to pick up bus, take bus if you can get it from Logan.

No matter which way you go, traffic will be awful on a Friday unless it is very early in the day (before 1 PM) or late at night. So driving/bus issue also depends on which you hate more - sitting on a bus in traffic or sitting in the car in traffic. Bus has access to express lane for a small part of the trip.

If the bus doesn't leave from Logan, it leaves from South Station, which can be reached directly from the Logan terminals, via the new Silver Line buses.

On a Friday afternoon, in an unfamiliar city, after a flight, I would certainly opt to leave the driving to someone else if possible.

Thank you both. The bus does leave from Logan - it's a regular shuttle to the Cape. It's only $40 round trip - so cheaper than renting a car which I don't need except to get to and from the Cape. I guess I'll give it a try. Thanks for your help.

The bus is the way to go. It starts at the first terminal at 15 minutes before the hour. Takes under 2 hours. You can go to the Barnstable stop (exit 6) or Hyannis. Go to p_b.com for the shedule.

The vote is in - take the bus (which will likely take more than 2 hours stated on a Friday afternoon)

I agree, take the bus....leave the driving to somebody else.

If your friends are coming from somewhere on the Cape other than downtown Hyannis, than they're probably better picking you up at the next to last stop (Exit 6 on Route 6 at the Burger King/Commuter Lot)less traffic, and easy on/off of Route 6.

If your final destination is close to downtown Hyannis, than you should stay on the bus until the end.
