Boston solo with toddler

Hi everyone,

I will be accompanying my DH on a business trip to Boston for 3 days from May 14-16. I will have the days to myself with my 20 month old son. I already plan on taking him to the aquarium for 1/2 day. However I was looking for ideas that would be fun to do with him where he doesn't have to stay in the stroller the whole time. I would like him to get to wander around a bit. Maybe some nice parks, fun activities or kid friendly attractions. I would like to see a bit of the city while also giving him the chance to explore a bit as well.

Thanks in advance!

:-)

Boston Childrens Museum for sure. Lots of stuff appropriate for various age kids and no stroller jail. He can run around the Boston Public Garden and perhaps ride the Swan Boats. Rose Kennedy Greenway I think has kid-friendly things, but hopefully someone with kids is more familiar with that than I.

The Greenway is a good suggestion. We walked it last fall from Chinatown to Quincy Market. You probably will NOT want to take a toddler into the market. It's extremely crowded and we found food vendors to be poor quality. A walk thru the outside would be ok although still pretty crowded. There was hardly anyone on the Greenway.

The central branch of the Boston Public library at Copley Square is supposed to have a very good children's section and the building itself is worth a visit.

I am not sure whether you feel you could navigate the T by yourself. If you can you could walk around the Harvard Square area. The playground on the Common is good and you could cross over from there to the Science Center area (it has food trucks) and into Harvard Yard.

This website lists some other playgrounds and seems to have suggestions for other things to do with a toddler.
