Boston- shopping for prom dresses?

We're going to look at colleges, but we have some extra time in Boston. Other than Filenes basement and department stores, can anyone recommend other places to shop for nice prom dresses?

Thanks,
Lucy

Boston, MA 801 Boylston Street, Entrance at 45 Fairfield Street, 3rd Floor 617.267.9070
This is Pricilla of Boston Bridal shop
expensive, I think but beatiful gowns for the maids and proms.

You mentioned Filene's Basement and next weekend, March 12 is their big sale which starts at 9 a.m. This is my daughter's 3rd prom and we have always been able to buy terrific dresses for under $50. There is one in the Newbury area, we were there in October 2004. Another recommendation, although I don't remember the name is a great re-sale shop near Newbury or Tremont and Boylston. Perhaps another Fodorite knows the name. My daughter bought some very chic designer clothes there for a song. It's on a lovely street with outdoor cafes as we had a great lunch across the street at an Italian restaurant. Hope you find it!

Do you mean the Closet?

The Closet is the resale shop(I sell my things there) but Filene's basement is not on or near Newbury St. It's on Washington St.
There's another resale almost across from the Closet but can't remember the name.
