Boston Shopping

Im going to Boston in a few weeks and was wondering if it has a shopping area similar to Canal Street in NY? Looking to buy some fun
"designer" items for my friends
Thanks!

Hi

I have never been to Canal St. in NYC, but for the most part, designers and their wares are located on Newbury St. in Boston.
I remember hearing that Canal St. has people selling fake Rolexes and purses. If you are looking for something similar in Boston, I have yet to see it. Maybe in Dowtown Crossing. Good luck.

There really isn't anything compared to Canal st. in Boston. There is, however, one kiosk in the Prudential Center that has some knock-offs and fake designer handbags, etc. Boston has a Chinatown (formerly known as the Combat Zone) but even that area has no cheap, fake stuff unless it's Asian fabrics and homegoods you want.

There is a very funky used and new clothing, books, etc warehouse type place somewhere in Cambridge. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the place,or where it is, but maybe someone else can?

You're probably thinking of the emporium known as the "Garment District." It's a fun place, but I think this is just the oposite of the new-fakes type of place that the OP wanted.
