Boston: Restaurants near Symphony Hall

Any restaurant recommendations near Symphony Hall in Boston? Open as to cuisine (except Italian) but restaurant should be appropriate for a nine year old (& preferably "moderately" priced).

Thanks.

Brasierre Joe, right on Huntington, would be a great choice.

well, I know I just mentioned it in another thread, so I hate to sound like a broken record, but I like Brasserie Jo. It's about a 5 minute walk to Symphony Hall, and is nice casual bistro style food. It would be okay to take a 9 year old there.

(and as I finish this, I see klw25 has beaten me to the punch...nice call klw25!)

There is a decent Thai place right next door to Symphony Hall, too. Only it's name escapes me. I think its something generic sounding, like Thai Bangkok, or Bangkok Orchid or something like that.

And there's Jasper White's Seafood Shack, near the Pru. You can have a lobster, and your child can have a corn dog :-)

Either Brasserie Jo or Jasper's would be an excellent choice.

The Cheesecake Factory or Marche Movenpick at the Prudential Center would also be fabulous if you allow plenty of time (always busy).

You might want to visit www.boston.citysearch.com - do a search for Symphony Hall, then click on "what's nearby" - restaurants.

Top recommendation, though, would be the Cheesecake Factory. Extensive menu, moderate prices, wonderful food (with an emphasis on BUSY all the time, which affects getting seated and swiftness of delivery, but not quality).

Thanks -- anyone else?

Sorry...I tried to post something the other day and just realized it didn't come up.

Another ethnic restaurant idea is Shanti of India (Indian food, of course) which is a couple of doors west of Symphony Hall. Nice atmosphere, good food and not pricey. We had New Year's eve early dinner there with our 8 and 11 year olds and had fun (they also have another spot in a Boston neighborhood close to our home). So if your kids are adventurous eaters, you may like this. The other suggestions are fine too.
