Boston Restaurant after Boston University Graduation

I will be attending a Boston University graduation on a Sunday morning in May. Looking for a special place for lunch or dinner to celebrate. Prefer something on the green line. Thank you.

When my sister graduated from BC, my family took over a tiny restaurant in the North End called Carmen. It's next to the Paul Revere House. Great ambience and setting and fantastic food. My husband, son and I returned last June and it was still wonderful. And they said they still do special events like graduations!

What sort of place do you mean by special? Budget? Type of cuisine? Ambiance? It's hard to sort through options with no parameters. My first thought is Island Creek Oyster Bar. It is conveniently close to BU, serves some of the best seafood in the area, and is a fun place to go. Just not sure if it would fit your definition of "special."

Thank you both for your replies. I will check out Carmen as our family does love Italian food. Special to me is a place that my son did not go with a group of his friends on a Friday night. Good service, good food. Don't want super expensive but I will spend more than if I was going out to dinner with my family on a regular evening. We will have a car so we can drive our of the city if we need to but don't want to travel too far.

Atlantic Fish Company, 761 Boylston Street, on the Green line love their food and service.

Eastern Standard might work. French/Brasserie style food. Not super pricey, excellent service, convenient Kenmore Square location.

Another possibility Citizens Oyster Bar...which is not just a seafood place, in spite of the name. Also located near Fenway, about a 10 minute walk from either the Kenmore square or Fenway green line stops.

That is the busiest graduation weekend in Boston this year. BU, Tufts, Brandeis, and Suffolk are all held that Sunday. So make dining reservations as soon as possible.

I love Legal Seafood. Hands down the best steamers and chowder.

I would also suggest Atlantic Fish. We do like Legal Seafoods, but think Atlantic Fish is a little more special.

I made reservations at Atlantic Fish. Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions.
