Boston Red Sox Tickets
Traveling to Boston - can anyone recommend a good place to try to but tickets for a Red Sox game in August. Of course, they are sold out.
|
There's never any shortage of scalpers on Yawkey Way the day of a game. Unless it's a very hot ticket (like the Yankees, etc.) or they're very good seats they won't be looking for much over list price.

I just checked Red Sox web site and there are tickets available for all August games EXCEPT the NY Yankees - so I am guessing that is the game you want.
So agree with above poster - you may have difficulty getting even scalped tickets and if you do the price will be high. Also, papers have reported several times this year (as they do every year) that they are getting tugh on scalpers - both sellers and purchasers - have no way of knowing whether or not this is true. |
No, I'm not looking for the Yankee game. But, I did check the Red Sox site, and they only have single tickets available for the game. I need 4. I did see some site that sold tickets, but I wasn't sure if they would be reputable or not.
Thanks for any help. |

The Red Sox started a new thing this year where season ticket holders are allowed to sell tickets at face value on line - the exact direct wed address I do not know - but it is called SmartFan and can be accessed by going to Red Sox website, clicking on tickets and then if you go to bottom of the screen there is a link to SmartFan. When you get there, it asks about registration for a fee, but I was able to select some games and check for tickets without being a registered user.
All that said, the few games I checked on only had single or 2 tickets available - no 4s. When I have seen scalpers outside Fenway on game days, they are usually waving only 2 tickets. But maybe they have more in their pockets! If you want to pay premium, you could go to a regular ticket broker - we have done business with Ace tickets once before several years ago for tickets for a business client - they were expensive but reliable - based on that one experience. Good luck |
Did you try EBay yet? If you are willing to pay more then face value, you will probably find the venue you need there. In checking, I see there are 16 pages of Red Sox tickets for sale.
I bought Yankees/Mets tickets on Ebay a couple of weeks ago... they cost me twice the face value but turned out to be great seats. I used the "Buy it Now" option offered by the seller to assure the sale. I found other ticket broker prices to be considerably higher. I studied the seating chart on the Yankees website, narrowed it down to a few EBay choices, then asked here for opinions on which were the more desirable seats. |

there wasn't anything for the dates i need on e-bay for 4, but i did look at the buyselltickets.com and they did have something although they seem to be triple the price. I guess that is what u meant by Ouch! I'll give them a try.
