Boston parking garages
 

I'm going to Boston midweek in April (Tuesday-Thursday) and I'm looking for someplace to leave my car that won't cost me a fortune. The best I've found so far is $18/day. Can anyone recommend something near Copley Square or the John Hancock building?

To me, $18/day mid-week in Boston is exceptionally low for Boston. Parking in Copley/Back Bay is difficult to find for $35, 40 or more...

Is this three separate trips or will you be leaving the car in the garage for three days?

Hi all...

It's just one trip, Ackislander, and we will be leaving the car in the garage the entire time.

I was even trying to figure out if we can leave the car in an outside town (at a train station or park and ride?)...we won't be using the car once we get there, since Boston is such a great walking town.

I'll try that link, escargot, and see how far it gets me.

Honestly, $18/day is cheap. I'd park at whichever garage that is and be done with it.

You could park outside the city at one of the T lots but you'll have to carry your luggage on the T and you have the possibility of vandalism or theft. Here's the website if you want to check out your options:

I think $18 a day is a good deal. Where is it? I usually park at the Pru for daytrips. It's convenient but pricey.

Hi Highflyer...that rate was quoted to me for parking at the John Hancock, but it may have been a special rate for the B&B I was looking to book next door.

The Alewife T station has 24 hour parking with attendant on duty. $5 a day for a maximum of 7 days. There are a few other T stations with 24 hour parking.

We parked at the Alewife station earlier this month. There is construction/repairs going on in the garage and portions of the station are closed with a sign that overnight parking is temporarily prohibited. Also, at Kendall we had to get off the train and transfer to a bus. The announcement was that you could reboard a train at Park Street. We were only going to Charles. Bus service was very efficient (no extra charge). We had no problem catching a bus from Charles (look carefully for the bus boarding sign) back to Kendall then catching a train back to Alewife.

There was mention of the construction at the Alewife garage, but no mention of the service interruption on the MBTA website.
