Boston Parking
 

I'm staying in Boston at the Hotel Eliot. Would appreciate any thoughts about where to park(maybe a T stop away?)for a week.<BR>

Many have asked this question, few have had really good answers. For that long, you can not park at MBTA lots, on the street anywhere that I know of without moving car, even remote lots. Only thing I can think of is one of the Logan Express lots (Woburn, Framingham, etc.) or off-site airport parking. But even these are not cheap. If it is winter, you have the added problem of maybe having to dig out your car when you retrieve it, so bring a shovel.<BR><BR>

Check http://www.loganexpress.com/logan/ge...peo_logan.html for parking. I believe you can park multiple days at Alewife station, at western end of the Red Line, but you might have to arrive during &quot;off hours&quot; to get a space.

You can also park at JFK Umass station on the red line

Why will you be in Boston for week and not need your car? Have the hotel park it so you can come and go. It's great fun driving around Boston. You'll miss all the excitement! (P.S. How do you plan on getting to the HillTop Steak House anyway???!!!)

There is a garage on Newbury near Mass Ave, almost next to Sonsies across from Virgin.

<BR>I'd vote for the Logan Express lot in Framingham. Nice and secure, not too expensive (comparatively). We've parked there for one and two weeks while travelling overseas, never a problem. You can take the express bus to the airport and into Boston from there.<BR><BR>

Bostonian, tell us more about the garage on Newbury -- any idea of the price? We'll be driving to Boston for a few days' vacation (to include NYEve) and staying at a hotel at Copley Place, and they quoted $33/day for our car.<BR><BR>I was also wondering if we could park it at the equivalent of the 'mall' garage for 3 nights? We don't plan to use it at all while in Boston.

We park at the mbta lot at Riverside right off of 128/95. We've stayed there a few days - you can call and find out about a week. Parking is about$3.50 a day. The ride into town is about 30 minutes. It's easy to get to, safe and cheap.

my friends tell me there's street parking in sommerville, since they don't require a pass. you may wanna check that out.

Some places in Somerville are, in fact, resident's only with sticker. Others are limited by max hours allowed, and they do mark tires to check. (I know, because as a community health nurse in the area I have had more than my share of parking tickets) The risk with any on-street parking at this time of year is that even if you can find it, if it snows you add a whole different set of on-street parking regulations.

I suggest parking at Alewife Station. There's a parking garage, you can park overnight, and the garage is secure. The cost is low. You can then take the red line into Boston.<BR><BR>By the way the MBTA lots are raising their daily parking rates in January.
