Boston Park Plaza Hotel
 

Has anyone stayed at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel?We might be staying there in October for a couple of days and we got a rate of only $59 per night-I have been hearing mixed reviews about the hotel.Also we are planning on staying 1 or 2 nights in Salem also-is this a waste of our time?Any info would be helpful.

Wasn't there a recent thread about this? <BR>Its a very nice hotel, with slightly less than modern decor, in an excellent location. And at that price, a great bargain.

To answer the above question-I am a travel agent and that is the special rate that they book for agents. However,I also told that alot of people use hotwire.com for Boston hotels.

I just spent a night there (even though I live in Boston - girls weekend thing), and thought it was just fine. The beds were great, and it seemed as though the rooms had just been redone. Great location. <BR> <BR>I'd say skip Salem - Boston has SO much more to offer.

I'm going to address the Salem part of your question. <BR> <BR>I live in an adjoining town. Salem does have some wonderful stuff to offer, and also some not-so-wonderful (in fact, junky) stuff. If you go, I suggest staying only one night, and visiting the Peabody-Essex Museum, the House of the Seven Gables, and the burying ground. Also take a drive around Marblehead, which is right next to Salem and has a beautiful harbor, some spectacular oceanfront homes (on the "Neck"), and a charming "old town" section. <BR> <BR>You could also do this as a driving trip from Boston for a day. <BR> <BR>It depends on the kinds of things you're interested in seeing. <BR> <BR>

for $59 per night TAKE it! It's in a great location. You'll walk to everything.

We were twice a couple years ago. Great location, but it is not the most modern place... <BR> <BR>Worth the rate you are paying. <BR> <BR>But - be careful in the shower. I dropped the soap last time there, bent down to pick it up and sliced my head open on the water faucet... The shower was a little tight and I was a little sleepy from the previous night out... <BR> <BR>Have a good time. <BR> <BR>

very centrally located hotel. Walking distance to the theater district, close to many resteraunts- if you like desert- go to Finale after a show- upscale but friends have said it was great. have fun. They have valet parking, but I am sure it is pricey.
