Boston on May 12th
I'm heading to Boston in May and am going to stay at the Colonnade Hotel in Back Bay, got it on PL and it's right across the street from my meeting. Has anyone stayed here recently? How is it, what should I expect.
Also my friend said I should go have the lobster at Locke Ober. Haven't heard of this place, any thoughts? Thanks! |
The Colonnade is just fine. Great brasserie within.
Locke-Ober was recently taken over by Lydia Shire. She is masterful and the place is quite the experience, not to mention the rich history. Highly recommend a visit. |
Stayed at the Colonade in 2000 and liked it very much. Was there 2 weeks ago to eat at Brasserie Jo and it was great. Colonade has a great location and one of the few rooftop pools in the city. The pool in the summer is considered a place to see and been seen.

Great thanks! Also has anyone eaten at Figs lately?

Wendy,
I am looking at this hotel, also. May I ask what price you got it for on Priceline? Quikbook has it for $149; have never used Priceline. Thanks. |
I got it for $80 per night. Before using priceline you should read around biddingfortravel.com It really helps you to understand how to bid effectively.
I'll give a report on the hotel next week! |
Wendy,
How was the hotel? Thanks. |
Oh I meant to update you, sorry.
The hotel is at a fantastic location. It is directly across from the Pru building so you can use that as your entrence to Boylston street. The rooms were large but the bathrooms small. I had a big king bed, desk, small table with 2 chairs. nothing special about the hotel or the rooms in my opinion. Everyone was very nice but it isn't as posh as the Westin or the Sheraton where I've stayed before. The price on priceline was great though so I had no concerns. Ate at the Brasserie Jo downstairs which was great! Ordered room service for breakfast, good and quick. Any other questions, just ask. |
