Boston-Marriott Hotels

Planning an anniversary weekend in Boston in August. Thinking of using Marriott points. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which Marriott is central to sites and restaurants. Thinking of the Long Wharf. Any suggestions??

The Longwharf is a great choice. Right on the harbor. Short walk to Quincy Market and the North End. The Aquarium is next door and you can pick up a Harbor cruise there. There is a Legal Seafoods across the street. The hotel is also quite nice. Have a nice weekend.

Ditto to shaz60--also if you want, the Boston Harbor Hotel, just down a way, offers free outdoor movie screenings of classic films on Fri evenings at dusk during the summer, weather permitting. We were at their outdoor restaurant one Fri last summer when they were setting up, and our dinner overlapped some w/Bridge on the River Kwai. You do not have to purchase anything, as they have a free viewing area right on the water. It was like a little slice of old time Amercicana!!

Summer - for sure Longwharf!!! Ocean, Northend strolls, Have fun! Winter, I'd think the other way and stay at Copley. Good Luck!

Agree with Gyppielou that for the summer (and for other times too) the Long Wharf Marriott is perfect. The Copley location is good for someone who wants to do the "fashion/food" thing on Newbury St but Long Wharf gives you the glorious harbor and wonderful food in tthe North End and Quincy Market and you can still visit Newbury St if so inclined..

The other possibility is the Marriott Custom House which is some sort of a timeshare but with your points it might work. Same basic location as the Long Wharf but I believe the units are more like small apts with kitchenettes ets. Enjoy your visit.
